Fireworks: Semicircles / Half-Circles

Quick lesson on creating a half circle in Fireworks.

Step 1: Creating a Circle

Every good semicircle begins with a full circle.

  1. Select the Ellipse Tool
  2. Holding down the Shift Key, draw out a Circle.

Step 2: Cutting the Circle

  1. Select the Knife/Eraser Tool (On Bitmap images, the Knife Tool changes to the Eraser Tool. This causes some confusion, but just remember the Knife is for Vectors, and the Eraser is for Bitmaps)
  2. Click and drag across the circle (starting and finishing at the two points)
  3. Click on the path with the Knife Tool.
  4. Click the V Key to select the Pointer Tool and move the circle.
